What you need

It’s a good idea to have a couple thoughts on what you might like to print on the day. This will help to get you started more quickly but not to worry if not. At previous workshops people have printed their children’s names, short quotes and affirmations, song lyrics and all sorts of other things.

Travel

Our workshop is in Dunchurch, a village on the outskirts of Rugby. It’s easy to get to off the A45 if you’re travelling by car. It’s a short car journey from Rugby station. If you’ve come a long way and would like to stay over there are rooms at the local pub.

Lunch

We will break for about an hour for lunch. You’re welcome to bring a packed lunch and eat it in the studio, there are also benches on the green if it’s a sunny day and two coffee shops and pubs in the village where you can get a nice lunch.

Health and Safety

The workshop is a working studio with large machines. We advise anyone with long hair to tie it back. The inks are permanent, please wear clothes you don’t mind getting inky or bring an apron. The inks are rubber based and are cleaned with white spirits. Type cases can be heavy, we will provide instruction on how to use them and help to move them. The presses are not suitable for use by children.

Access

The workshop is accessible from the street with no steps, however there is a step down to the toilet. The presses are designed to be used standing.
